Meet Diana

My husband and I decided to build our home in North Barrington more than 11 years ago because of the excellent school system in District 220.We also genuinely fell in love with the community and people that live here.

I have two boys, Evan, an eighth grader in Chinese Immersion at Station and Avery, a sixth grader who attends Prairie.  Because my kids grew up in the immersion program, we have had our tour of the schools here in Barrington: the Early Learning Center, North Barrington, Barbara Rose, and Roslyn for the  after-school K.E.E.P. program!

My husband and I both have a passion for community service and giving back.  Over the years, I’ve served as a room parent for both kids.  In addition, I’ve been involved in Junior Achievement and have  piloted two programs through the Love Family Christian Foundation: Born Beautiful, a workshop that empowers young women and equips them with the tools to enable their confidence and change their vision of what they can be in the future, and Gamechangers, which teaches kids about entrepreneurship and helps them start their own businesses. My husband has been a longstanding coach in the community for Barrington Youth Baseball, Barrington Park District Basketball and Barrington Youth Football.

Growing up in the northwest suburbs, I have experienced what it feels like to be either the only person or one of a few people of color in multiple settings. I know what it feels like to be picked on or dismissed for being different. Conversely, I understand the impact and value of feeling “heard”. This is why inclusion is so important to me.  Barrington is a mosaic of people who ALL deserve to have their stories weaved into the fabric of this community.  I want to be a voice to the voiceless. Our children need to know how to thrive in diverse environments because their life experiences will stretch far beyond our Barrington area. Diversity drives innovation and growth, so  let’s prepare our children to successfully navigate a world full of different backgrounds and life experiences!

When I’m not cheering on my boys in their athletic and academic pursuits, I work as a marketing leader at a large healthcare/biopharmaceutical company. I’ve also spent 11 years in finance, sales and marketing leadership roles at one of the largest consumer product goods companies. I hold a bachelor of science degree in finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University—so I’m also a Big Ten fan for life!
